Henry Church Collection. Very good uncut copy in original green wraps with some faint discoloration to edges of cover and spine-of Quarterly financed by American expatriate writer Henry Church and his wife Barbara. The Journal was edited until the outbreak of World War II by an Editorial Committee which consisted of Henry Church, Jean Paulhan of the Nouvelle Revue Française, French writer-poet Henri Michaux, Italian poet Giuseppe Ungaretti and philosopher Bernard Groethuysen. Among the contributions to this copy #76 of a limited multi-lingual edition of 1200-which comes from the collection of Barbara Church-are works by Martin Buber, Kierkegaard, a hitherto unpublished work by Madame de Lafayette, and by 12th century Arab mystic poet Omar Ibn El Faridh.
