This particular Lakeside Press edition combines James Marshall's and Edward Buffum's books on life during the California Gold Rush period. Marshall made the discovery of gold in 1849 and Buffum came along in 1849. Both compiled diaries of the gold mining period and of early California life in general. A clean pristine copy.
