Octavo. xxx, 300pp. Trifle worn and a bit of evidence of label removal on the front fly, near fine in lightly worn, near fine dust jacket with a faint vertical crease on the spine. Inscribed by editor and contributor John Ciardi on the title page: "Dear Stuart: James Dickey? The poet? John Ciardi." Also Signed on the title page by Karl Shapiro, Richard Eberhart (dated 1983), and Richard Wilbur (again by him at his poems).

An important anthology containing "Statements of Writing Principals" (written for this anthology), as well as poems by Richard Wilbur, James Dickey, John Ciardi, Karl Shapiro, Richard Eberhart, Elizabeth Bishop, Theodore Roethke, Robert Lowell, Randall Jarrell, and others.
