Previous owner's name on the front free end page. No other inscription. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white reproductions of arts and documents and colour reproductions of artworks. Traces of foxing to the top edge of the text block no other damage to describe. Translated from the Italian, this study necessarily deals with the events of the Civil War, the year of Cromwell's rule, the restoration of the monarchy, and the ways in which Milton participated in these changes.
