Introduction by K. M. Burton, chronology of Milton's life and index. Illustrated end pages, being a gold coloured (multi-reproduced) of the series initials. Blue coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the back strip and orange coloured tint to the top text edge. Illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Selections from John Milton's prose works, including On Religious Liberty, On Civil Liberty, On Domestic Liberty and Autobiographical Extracts. Softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. Light age toning of the text block edges and pages. Blue coloured stain to the lower text edge. Previous owners details to the top edge of the half title page. The half title page and the penultimate page show offset tanning. Creasing of the top dustwrapper edge with a little chipping of the lower back strip edge, which has also bled down by about 2 inches to the top right hand corner of the back strip. There has been a blue coloured stain to the top back strip edge and sunning to the back strip. Rubbing of the book edges and panels. Revised. Size: 12mo (Small Hardcover).
