About This Item

Penguin, Middlesex, 1992. reprint. Softcover. Good Condition. All preface by author, notes, select bibliography and index. The text is illustrated with the occasional black and white line drawings. Colour illustrated paperback binding with white coloured titles to the front panel and black and white coloured titles to the back strip. Throughout history humans have dreamt of knowing the reason for the existence of the universe. Many scientists I believe that, given the laws of nature, a universe can come into being spontaneously, without the need of a creator. Yet where do these laws come from? Have they been created by God, or can they be explained in some other way? In a bold and controversial analysis, acclaimed physicist Paul Davies argues that these laws must have a remarkably special form. – His startling conclusion is that the universe is no accident, but is structured in a way that provides a meaningful place of thinking beings. By means of science, we can truly glimpsed the mind of God." – from rear panel blurb. Creasing of the book corners with rubbing of the book edges and panels stop sunning to the back strip with browning and foxing of the text block edges. Browning to the verso of the covers and there are foxing spots to the first few and last few pages of the book. There is a distinct yellow coloured edge to the pages.
