New York: Schocken Books, 1989. First edition and first printing. Hardcover. 176 pages. A review copy with laid in slip. A collection of stories and essay translated from the Italian by Raymond Rosenthal. A clean and tight near fine copy in a near fine dust jacket with some slight creasing to the front flap.
Synopsis
PRIMO LEVI was born in Turin in 1919 to an Italian-Jewish family. Arrested as a member of the anti-Fascist resistance, he was deported to Auschwitz in 1944. After the war, Levi resumed his careers as a chemist and a writer in Turin until his untimely death in 1986.

All books noted as First Editions are also First Printings unless indicated otherwise. Books are returnable for any reason within 10 days provided they are returned in the same condition they were sent.
