About This Item
Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1957. 185 pp. Octavo. Original blue cloth boards. Pictorial dust jacket over cloth. Former library copy with stamps and a bookplate. Clipped jacket has light edge wear with chips and creasing. Light tanning to edges. Illustrations include 16 plates and 2 maps. A sea voyage of 10,000 miles for the sake of traversing 50 miles up a glacier may seem a little long, as H. W. Tilman noted in the introduction to this book. However, as it has the added charm of being of double interest to a mountaineer or a sailor, it would make a fine addition to the library of either. 1957
