About This Item
London: R. Ackermann, 1808. First Edition. Half calf. Marbled pastedown boards. Pastedown label. . Very Good. 4to. 27.5 by 21 cm. 50 hand-colored plates. Comparatively uncommon Rowlandson title, and one that captures a wide range of his stylistic approach to caricature. Rebacked, sympathetically, with contemporary marbled boards and original title label. Light edgewear. Some scattered finger smudging in the margins. Overall, though, the plates are bright, fresh and attractive.
