London: Michael Joseph. Fine in Fine dust jacket. 1969. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. A uncommon title of Miss Read (Dora Saints) favourite recipe's. Divided into the four seasons. A fine book with some foxing on the top edge and a few spots on the fore-edge. Signed on the title page by the author as both Miss Read and Dora Saint. Signed copies are quite rare to find and at the time of listing this was the only copy available. A fine dust jacket, clipped. With a protective mylar over. Miss Read (or Dora Jessie Saint) was an English novelist and a schoolmistress by profession. Best known for her Fairacre and Thursh Green novels set in the British countryside. In 1998 she was made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to literature. Our collection of Miss Read books come from a single collector, all of them signed, which is extremely rare and generally in exceptional condition.
