Subtitled "or The Adventures of Louis Belgrave," part of author's American Boy Series; one of approx. 45 books by Adams & is one of eight he used the pseudonym "Oliver Optic." Green cloth over boards cover has black lettering and decorative art on fr. & spine. Cover has extreme fading at fr, base corner and half way up that edge, less at back base corner; wear at base corners along with lighter wear elsewhere. Inside, former owner's name & 1" tear on ffep; full length split after ffep, several other light splits elsewhere, penciled checkmarks on list of other books in series & lightly tanned pages. For its age, book is GOOD+.
