New York: Duell, Sloan and Pearce, 1951. First Edition, First Printing. Cloth. Very good/very good. Signed first edition of Man in the Mist by Francis Bonnamy.. Octavo, 253pp. Gray cloth, title printed on spine in yellow. No additional printings on copyright page, with "I" noting a first printing. Light wear to tips of spine, solid text block. Business card with "Sherlock Holmes" illustration attached to front pastedown endpaper. In the publisher's first state dust jacket, price-clipped, tape repairs to verso, chipping along top edge, a very good example. Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "A Merry Christmas to our long-time friend and almost relative, Grace Osterhus. Francis Bonnamy. Dec. 25, 1951." An exceptionally rare signed book by Francis Bonnamy (Audrey Boyers Walz), with no other known examples appearing on the public market in 30+ years. Francis Bonnamy was the pseudonym of American author Audrey Boyers Walz (1906-1983). Her primary character was detective Peter Utley Shane, who appeared in eight novels from 1931-1951.
