The first book in the Zimiamvia trilogy, followed by 'A Fish Dinner in Memison' (1941) and 'The Mezentian Gate' [unfinished] (1958). A few pale fox-marks to the free endpapers and slight fading to the red stained top edge, otherwise a clean, bright copy in the publisher's cream dustwrapper lettered in black and with decorations in scarlet, gold and black, now a little dusty and marked, with two small closed tears and a slightly browned spine, the head of which shows a touch of wear
