His influence on builders and architects came from his balance between traditional forms and new ideas grounded in construction principles. This edition of "Modern Architect" was written to with three parts, a concise survey of the history and progress of architecture, characteristics of Egypt, Greco-Roman, Gothic, and other different styles of architecture, and the arrangement and construction of houses specifically doors, windows, chimneys, stairs and more. This 1856 edition includes 65 engraved plates and is bound in a decorative leather binding!
