Philadelphia, PA: Getz, Buck & Co (No. 4 Hart's Buildings), n.d. Second edition since the author'. Hardcover. Acceptable. Darley. Two volumes in one. "Second edition since the author's death with a biographical notice, a critical disquisition on the work, and explanatory notes. With Illustrations from original drawings by Darley". A scarce variant, printed in Philadelphia. Corner of title page repaired. Tp heavily foxed, with some soil. Possibly cut down, as Charles A. Hamilton's signature is cut off at the top of the page. Although there is no other indication that the text has been cut down. Half leather calf binding appears to be contemporary with printing. Also signed, "J. H. Hamilton" on fep in pencil. Large 16 mo. Calf is heavily worn but spine is whole, and leather label is in very good condition. Hinges are cracked through but attached. Pages are only lightly foxed. Small light stain to top corner of second volume. Volume 1 paginated to 192; volume 2 to 189. Rare.
