Containing a full description of the methods of constructing and erecting various types of wood stairs for cottages, mansions, modern stores, railway stations etc.. With examples of iron, stone, concrete, and marble staircases, all kinds of curved , moulded and shaped steps, including clear and practical directions for taking dimensions, setting out, planning, fixing and finishing, also the construction of simple and complicated, twisted, wreathed and framed-and-moulded wood soffits, both rectangular and spiral etc., etc. Comprising modern methods of producing solid and built-up handrails, ramps, knees, breaks and easings of shingle and double curvature; also methods of setting out face and falling moulds; large scale working drawings of typical wreaths, including the formation of ramps, kneelings and solid easings, and a full description of setting out scrolls, spirals, mitre caps, and other terminals. This is effectively 2 volumes bound as one as intended. Very good clean condition inside, dust jacket with chipping to edges and some marking. ***Over 1kg and may require additional overseas postage***.
