Black paper-covered boards titled in gilt, cloth spine. 44,[4] pp. No. 289 of 950 copies printed for The Lantern Press (Gelber, Lilienthal, Inc.) by Edwin & Robert Grabhorn numbered from 51 to 1000, and fifty on Japan Vellum, numbered from 1 to 50. Title page printed in black with woodcut printed in red. Very good, without the black cloth slipcase.
Anderson was best known for his 1919 novel WINESBURG, OHIO, and due to his portrait of American life in that novel he is called upon here to argue the role of the modern writer in America and beyond.
