About This Item

Franklin Library Edition, 1985. Franklin Library Edition, 1985. Dark Red Leatherette over boards, gold designs and lettering. Very Good/No DJ as issued. Wood- Engraved Illustrations after Tony Johannot. show more ↓ Jean-Baptiste Poquelin, known by his stage name Molière, 15 January 1622 - 17 February 1673), was a French playwright and actor who is considered to be one of the greatest masters of comedy in Western literature. These are the best of Moliere's masterful one-acts, blending broad farce and pointed wit to express his never-ending delight in human foibles. But Moliere is more than just the "master of the laugh," for behind the comic gestures of these matchless rogues, tight-fisted masters, possessive lovers and elegant ladies lurk fears, insecurities and their consequences. The Franklin Library, 1985. Leatherette, 22 kt. gold accents and lettering, printed with acid neutral pages that are thread sewn, not glued together, gold gilded page edges to further protect the pages, raised spine bands that give each volume that distinctive antique look, decorated end papers. Dark Red Leatherette over boards, gold designs and lettering. No DJ as issued. Franklin Library Books stopped printing these in 2000, they are no longer in print These are beautiful books and make unique great gifts.
