About This Item

Mongolia cquc Genghis Khan, 1162-1227. Mongol chronicle Činggis Qagan u čidig including Altan tobči: Meng wen Meng-ku shih chi.

Mongol chronicle Činggis Qagan u čidig including Altan tobči : 蒙文蒙古史記. Peking : publisher not identified, 1940, 196 pages, bound in sturdy black library buckram, some pencilling on back free endpaper in English and Mongolian? Text in Mongolian script.

Full title of Altan tobci on p. 126: Qad-un u̇ndu̇su̇n quriyangġui Altan tobci neretu̇r [sic] sudur.

This could be the reprint of edition published: Peking : Mongġol Bicig-u̇n Qoriy-a, 1925. Maybe it's the 1925 edition. I don't know, my Mongolian is a little rusty.

The OCLC Number may be 79095771. I will hate to see it go as I have special place in my heart for odd ball imprints. Have a Georgian-French dictionary (country of Georgia) with a script that looks a lot like Mongolian. Mongolian, to me looks like a combination of Arabic and Syriac but I think it is written top to bottom, like Chinese. Georgian script is similar to Mongolian although it is not as strong looking. The introduction of Christianity into China by Nestorian monks had a profound effect in showing the Chinese that Christianity had a genuine historical claim to being recognized. Obviously a rare book but maybe not for everyone. $100.00 Box 70 II
