Boston: Ticknor and Fields, 1860, [c.r. 1859]. Small 8vo. 179, [1] pages, including half-title, plus frontispiece portrait of the author. 16-page publisher's catalog at rear dated Oct. 1859. Original brown cloth with gilt spine lettering; covers ruled and decorated in blind; brown coated endpapers. [18.5 cm.] Spine worn at ends and in vertical line along center, with loss of most of the "T" in "The." Corners bumped and a little worn. Name on front pastedown. Foxing to frontispiece; slight offsetting and foxing to title; a few minor traces of foxing scattered in the text. Good plus. FIRST EDITION. BAL 17291 (binding "A").
