About This Item
London: Hutchinson & Co., Ltd., 1949 Book. Good Plus. Hard Cover.. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Green cloth on boards. The only fault is missing first free endpaper. Clean and sound. No reviews found. The Red House is a seaside hotel with four permanent residents. Mr. Haxton seems to be curiously inquisitive about Eileen, the deaf daughter of the owner, Mrs. Hughes. It's no great surprise when Mrs. Hughes turns up dead, for she was mean. Descriptions of the characters and their lives together are humorously real. I don't read fiction, but I think I would enjoy reading this book. 208 pp..
