London: Samuel Bagster & Sons Ltd Hard Cover. 8 1/8 x 6. 39 pp. Subtitled: Told to Wendy from the New Testament. Although no publishing date is stated there is a penciled inscription "To Eleanor From Sylvia and Aunty Nelly, happy Birt hday, 1944. Grass-green cloth binding over boards with paste on colour illustation of child in bed, holding a teddy bear, looking out open window to pink flowered cherry orchard, and bluebird. Binding ocver is scuffed and edges are worn. Paste on illustration is in excellent cond. Each story (based on stories from the New Testament) are told by a mother to her little girl each night before she goe s to sleep. These are parables and each story is a short chapter unto itself with names such as "The Healing of the Ten Lepers," "The Blind Man", Jairus' Little Daughter", "The Good Shepherd" Nine in all. Retold simply and with affection. Pages have some soiling - finger smudges. No tears or chips. Overall cond. good..
