G. Lane & P.P. Sandford, for the Methodist Episcopal Church, J. Collord, Printer, 1842. First Edition. Leather Binding. Good. First ediiton of this early anti-Mormon tract. Bound in period brown calf, spine stamped in gilt with red leather label (hinges split and boards nearly detached, binding rubbed with some chipping to top of spine; ink stamp on upper text reading 'Hennepin ILL Putnam Co.'; heavily foxed throughout with some smaller stains; ink initials on endpaper). First of three printings issued in 1842 in New York (with varied imprints).Flake 4601.
