New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1912 Hard cover, 12mo (5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches), in green cloth with gold pictorial title to front board within a square featuring opposing gryphons, sundial and other classical motifs. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. 303 pp. Condition Very Good, with moderate age toning to the text, otherwise clean, firm, and with no writing. One bumped corner and minor shelf wear. The work contains three dramas: "The Mortal Gods," "A Son of Hermes" and "Kidmir." The Author, Olive Telford Dargan ( 1869-1968) was an admired, anthologized Southern writer of lyric poetry, novels, social novels and short stories. Trained as a teacher, she did graduate work at Radcliffe College where she met her future husband, Pergram Dargan, also a poet. She won several prizes for her work as a Southern writer, eventually settling in Asheville, North Carolina. OCLC 3143460. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good.
