Her 1968 novel, The Whispering Mountain , won the Carnegie Medal and the Guardian Award. She was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire for her services to children's literature. QUENTIN BLAKE is the internationally acclaimed illustrator of more than two hundred award-winning books, including several classics by Roald Dahl. He lives in London.
