Artist's note to this newly revised fourth printing:"Just as the last copies of the facsimile edition are being acquired, we are pleased to be able to produce these enhanced versions of the trade and deluxe editions. Advances in printing technology have enabled us to improve the fidelity of the reproduction in both finer detail and superior color. I executed the original manuscript on animal vellum, whose characteristic translucency allows traces of the writing and art from the opposite side to be visible. In the facsimile edition we went to great efforts to reproduce this effect accurately. The first printings of the trade edition, too, reveal the show-through. This has proven distracting to some readers, so I decided to eliminate the show-through in this new printing. It is with great gratitude that I realize the trade edition of this work has entered its fourth printing. A quarter of a century after I began it, it now joins the other Haggadah quartets, like the four cups of wine, the four questions, and the four children!"
