About This Item

London: Arum Press, 2003. Paperback. Very Good/N/A. 23-5-16. A biography of one of the most, brilliant and pigheaded English men of his age. Brought up in South America, he led a famous expedition to Borneo, while at university, then in the UK set up Mass Observation , a pioneering social survey organisation, parachuted into Borneo during the war to work with tribal collaborators to seriously harass the Japanese and became curator of the Sarawak Museum. His outspoken character probably made him an equal number of friends and enemies. The author, who know him in his later years, makes a creditable job of trying to capture the variety, intelligence and spontaneity of his life. 468 pages with an index. Very Good Paperback. Reprint Weight 0.5kg. Post free within Malaysia There is some light creasing to the spne, but very little other cover wear. The binding is tight, the text is clear and there is mild tanning throughout.
