Library copy, with expected inserts and inscriptions. Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing, mild to end-papers and text-block edges. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Unclipped jacket has light edge-wear with tears and creasing.

Slight cracking to gutters causing binding to be loose, however pages remain attached. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Splits to spine ends causing cloth to be frayed. Dents and staining to rear board.
