Book #7 (of 22 total) in the popular boy's series from the early 20th century featuring the adventures on land, sea, & air of 3 well-to-do young men. Under the pseudonym, "Clarence Young,'' author Howard Garis made his debut writing for the Stratemeyer Syndicate (his wife, Lillian, would assist on some of the books in the corresponding "Motor Girl" series). A FIRST EDITION, first printing from 1910 (listing to self in front matter), this hardcover12mo is bound in brown cloth stamped with black images of the boys & black lettering to front & spine, in 248 pages with glossy frontispiece. Condition is just Good: generally quite clean with the occasional smudge, binding strong & straight, hinges secure. Pages moderately tanned, commensurate with age. Exterior shows speckling & many small rubbed spots, wear to extremities, heavily bumped corenrs. No DJ (missing).
