New York, New York, U.S.A.: Cuppless & Leon Company, 1909. First Edition Later Printing . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Book #7 (of 22 total) in the popular boy's series from the early 20th century featuring the adventures on land, sea, & air of 3 well-to-do young men. Under the pseudonym, "Clarence Young,'' author Howard Garis made his debut writing for the Stratemeyer Syndicate (his wife, Lillian, would assist on some of the books in the corresponding "Motor Girl" series). A hardcover 12mo bound in green cloth stamped with colored pictorial design & lettered in black to front & spine, in 248 pages + 1 additional page of ads for other books in this series in rear, + glossy frontispiece (detached, as are preceding front matter pages) + 2 internals (1 detached, along with the page that follows it). Orig. published in 1909, this is a slightly later printing (listing to Book #9 in front matter. Condition is Good: generally quite clean with the occasional smudge. Front hinge is cracked & front board is loose, underlying webbing exposed. Pages moderately tanned, commensurate with age. Former owner's name & date (1911) in neat script to ffep; NO other writing/underlining/highlighting; not ex-lib. NO DJ (missing).
