London: The Quality Book Club, 1969. Book Club Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. BOOK CLUB UK EDITION WITH MORE PHOTOS THAN THE USA EDTION. Original red boards with black title patch lettered in gilt. The book is like new with clean covers, no rubbing, no fading, no foxing, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, solid binding (probably never read or used). The original dust jacket has two clean 1cm tears upper cover, minor rubbing spine ends. The inscription is to a longtime publisher of mountaineering books, some of which include Rowell's photos. Pollock was the head of Mountaineers Books (Seattle) for years and later had his own publishing at Alpen Books and Cloudcap Books. He was the publisher of Roberts' book, MOMENTS OF DOUBT. The book measures 222mm tall x 137mm, and has 157 pages, 22 b/w photos, 3 maps (1 2-page route diagram), 4 appendices. This UK edition has nearly twice as many photos as the USA first edition but is slightly smaller format. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
