New York: Horace Liveright, 1931. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/near fine. First edition (no statement as is correct). Hardcover on green cloth stamped in light blue and with gilt facsimile author signature front cover. Illustrated endpapers. 256 pp. A tight, near fine example, bit of light spotting lower front cover. in the original Robert Edmund Jones designed dust jacket, near fine, spine and outer edges a touch toned. Trilogy cycle of O'Neill plays: "Homecoming", "The Hunted" and "The Haunted", a retelling of the ancient Greek Orestia by Aeschylus. The characters parallel those of the original work. The statgeplay of the trilogy debuted on Broadway in Octover, 1931 and ran for 150 performances. It was the basis for the 1947 film starring Rosalind Russell, Michael Redgrave, and Raymond Massey as well as for a 1967 opera by Martin David Levy.
