About This Item
Knopf, Pilgrim Press, 1972. A seminal publication assembled by Mitchell Goodman who was one of the "Boston Five" (1968) which also included Benjamin Spock, Marcus Raskin, Mitch Goodman and also Coffin and Ferber. These five great co-conspirators organized anti-war and anti-draft activism in the late 60s. Goodman also served in World War II and wrote a classic war novel "The End of It" in 1961. This compendium is the size of a Manhattan phone book and encompasses strong activism and the arts, Black Panthers, performers Ñ there is no book like it. Has become scarce. Inside front cover shows Rosa Parks taking her seat on the bus; back inside cover a brave protester before gun fire at Kent State (1970). Very good tall white illustrated wraps with clean highly illustrated text
