About This Item

Chicago: Nelson-Hall Company, 1973. First Edition. Signed presentation copy to film director John Schlesinger, inscribed by the author: “John, Don’t miss the epigraph on p. IX! Oblong format, 10 1/4” x 8 1/4”, 249 pages, with bibliography and index. Illustrated. Near fine copy with a trace of use in a lightly used dust jacket with some tape repaired tears, a bit of dust soiling, and some fading to the spine. Other directors featured in the book include, Charlie Chaplin, Howard Hawks, George Cukor, George Stevens, Fred Zinneman, Stanley Kubrick, David Lean, Carol Reed, Joseph Losey, Brian Forbes, Ken Russell, and cinematographer James Wong Howe.
