London: Spencer Blackett, 1888. [Classic Literature] FIRST EDITION, Later issue without publisher's advertisements at rear. Octavo (23 x 16cm), pp.286. With 16 engraved plates, including a frontispiece. Publisher's red cloth stamped in black and gilt to spine and upper board. All edges untrimmed, black coated endpapers. Textblock shaken, light, very occasional spotting. Spine sunned, cloth rubbed and marked, ring mark to upper. Good. Remains a perfectly readable copy of this early Haggard novel and one of the author's more obscure works.
