About This Item
Grossett & Dunlap, 1941. Hard cover. Very good in good dust jacket.. Nice movie tie-in dust jacket with top edge chips and creased spine, now protected under Brodart. Photo on front features Gracie Allen and William Post Jr., who starred in the 1942 movie adaptation of The Norths Meet Murder (text of this book). Copyright page reads 1941 5th printing but the jacket is obviously 1942 and the gift/owner inscription on the inside is dated 1943. Like all Grossets of the 1940s, the paper has tanned but is still very readable and all pages are clean and tight in binding. Allen is best known for her long marriage and comedy partnership with George Burns but did several leading lady roles and murder mystery parts.
