Her "Mother Lode Brownies, " for instance, are made up of a brownie layer, baked, spread with a caramel coating and topped with nuts, semisweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips. It's difficult to imagine anything more excessive, although the author makes a good attempt to do just that with double-fudge chip cake, chocolate turtle pie, and "Triple Chocolate Suicide. " This book is not for the faint of heart or for those looking to lose weight. But if you crave chocolate and feel somehow neglected or forbidden, Fields will offer manna without restriction.
