Plain text dustwrapper with pink and white coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Black and white photograph of Jean Harris to the rear dustwrapper panel. Black-and-white photograph of author to the rear fold over panel. In March 1980, Jean Harris, lover of Dr Herman Tarnover (creator of the Scarsdale diet) visited him for the last time to bid him farewell before committing suicide. Mrs Harris had been replaced by a younger mistress by Dr Tarnower. In a struggle to wrest the gun by which Mrs Harris was going to commit suicide, Dr Tarnower died. After a lengthy trial in New York State Mrs Harris was convicted of the murder of her long-time lover. This book looks at the people involved, the crime and how it came about, along with the psychological observations of the author on the various players in the tragedy. Rubbing of the backstrip edges and of the book corners. Tanning of the textblock edges and pages. Some of the pages had become a little dogeared, top right-hand corner.
