About This Item
(Subject: Other Topics - Diverse Subjects
) The authors examine the motives of those involved in Israeli Premier Rabin's assassination. Rabin played a leading role in the signing of the Oslo Accords in 1993 which created the Palestinian National Authority and granted it partial control over parts of the Gaza Strip and West Bank. Prior to the signing of the accords PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat renounced violence and officially recognized Israel. On 4th November, 1995, Rabin was assassinated by Yigal Amir, a radical right-wing Orthodox Jew who opposed the signing of the Oslo Accords.
