Good/No Jacket. 1107 pages, with index and bibliography, 25 b&w illustrations (art reproductions) on plates, three maps of where composers from certain countries were active. Covers ancient Greece to the early 20th century. Royal 8vo (6-1/2" x 9-1/2"), black cloth with gilt lettering in red insets all rubbed especially on spine where letters are illegible, red topstain, boards worn and scuffed, water stain to front board, edges and end papers age-toned, first 80 pages or so wavy at top as from damp. Names of three former owners written on front pastedown and first free end paper, which also has other scribbles in pencil; underscoring and/or marginalia observed on approximately 50 pages. Heavy book, may incur shipping surcharge.

Heavier or oversized items may incur a shipping surcharge, which will be stated to the buyer before finalization of the transaction. Shipping charge may be reduced on some books weighing less than 1 lb to U.S. addresses. International Priority shipping charges may be reduced on books that fit in a USPS small flat-rate box. International Standard (First-Class Package International) shipping charges may be reduced for a second or more books if the total package weight does not exceed 2 lb.
