About This Item

Houghton Mifflin, 1918. 1st Edition. Hardcover. VG. BENDA, W T. 1st Edition 1st State. 12.6 x 19 cm brown cloth with orange titles to the front and spine, xii(1) 418(1)pp with 8 black and white illustrations by W T Benda on glossy paper as called for. The boards are clean with a touch of fading and very light creasing to the spine. The spine tips are rubbed with a chip 2mm x 3mm from the head of the spine on the front joint. There are a couple of small nicks in the cloth at the spine tips. There is a little softening to the lower front fore edge corner and tiny white marks (paint?) at the tips of the top corners. The binding remains firm and square. Internally clean, without name, inscription or bookplate. All in all a very good 1st Edition copy from this Pulitzer Prize winning novelist. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.

Synopsis

My Ántonia (first published 1918) is considered one of the greatest novels by American writer Willa Cather. My Ántonia — pronounced with the accent on the first syllable of "Ántonia" — is the final book of the "prairie trilogy" of novels by Cather, the other two being O Pioneers! and The Song of the Lark.
