About This Item
Colliers, New York, 1951. A unique piece of Hoover memorabilia. This is a scrapbook of a series of autobiographical articles Hoover wrote for Colliers in 1951. It was put together by a friend or colleague of Hoover's named Walter E. Ditmars. Hoover signed the top of the third front end page and below that is a taped note to Ditmars, also signed by Hoover, stating his appreciation for Ditmars' "exhibit of affection". Included is business card of Edward Anthony of Colliers congratulating Ditmars for a "great job...putting this material together." The boards are dark green with gilt decoration, sturdy with rubbing both front and back. The articles themselves are badly stained, but legible.
