This is a lovely first printing of the first American edition [Doubleday Garden City NY 1959], signed by author Herman Wouk directly on the title page. The book is in near fine condition with a previous owner's name erased on the front free end paper and an errant impression on the rear board but with no remainder marks, a tight and square binding, with no highlighting, staining or marking. The dust jacket is in fine condition, not price-clipped ($3.95), with no creases, chips or tears and minimal shelf wear. It is now protected by an archival cover which is easily removable, with no tape or adhesive used.
