About This Item
Vol.1-5. Used book may have markings, writing from the previous owner. No DJ. Very little bumping, rubbing, fading on the top, spine, edges, corners. Outer page edges with tanning, browning, stains and foxing. Frank Harris was a man of letters, and moved in many literary circles. What makes this book fascinating is that the author is not afraid to describe certain personal character flaws of some of the big names of literature, such as Bernard Shaw, John Ruskin, Thomas Carlyle, and many others. Frank Harris lived a complete life in every sense of the word, and it would have been a real treat to have known him personally. (It was rumored that even Oscar Wilde was humbled by this man.) This is the greatest autobiography ever written. 1963. B9.
