San Antonio, Texas: Alamo, 1939. Hardcover. Good. Small quarto. Original publisher's dark purple cloth with decorative device and titling gilt to upper, titling to spine. 130 pp. + 1f. Binding worn, rubbed, bumped, and faded; rear hinge split. Ex-Free Library of Philadelphia, with call number to foot of spine, bookplate to front pastedown ("Withdrawn"); perforated stamp to title and last two leaves; markings to foot of preliminary leaf; library pocket to verso of rear free endpaper. Venth was "a German-American composer, violinist, conductor, music educator, and scholar. He was a leading classical music figure in Texas in the first half of the twentieth century and was one of the early music directors of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra." Wikipedia.
