Albuquerque: The University of New Mexico Press, 1940. Limited first edition, 1/400. 404pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Tan cloth with the title in brown on the front board and backstrip. Very good/Very good. Jacket is price clipped. This limited 'De Luxe' was printed in an edition of 400 numbered copies, this is copy 28. Miguel Antiono Otero (1849-1944) moved with his family to New Mexico in 1851. Otero's first job was working as a bookkeeper with the family firm, Otero, Sellar & Company. He entered politics in 1883 as City Treasurer of Las Vegas. In 1897 he was appointed Territorial Governor of New Mexico, a position he held until 1906. He remained active in politics throughout his life. Six-Guns 1660.
