Book condition Very Good+. Dustjacket condition, Very Good+. Very clean red cloth boards with gold lettering on spine. Slight bumping to corner tips, no fraying, no wear. Fading to 1/8" bottom spine edge. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Neat, lightly penned previous owner inscription and date on front free endpaper. No other marks. 199 pgs. Unfaded dustjacket is not price clipped, quite clean (small spot on front panel), unchipped, with several closed edge tears. Enclosed in new archival quality mylar cover. From 1943 to 1945 Guareschi was an inmate of various Nazi prisoner-of-war camps. Day by day, he kept a diary: these are the highlights and distillations of that diary. 12mo. World War II..
