About This Item

New York: Random House, 1929. First Thus. Tan boards with printed paper label; colored patterned end papers; 8vo. 11 pp. Number 545 of 600 copies printed by Pynson Printers; apologia/errata slip laid in. Originally written as an introduction for an inexpensive edition published earlier in the year in Paris which Lawrence hoped would stem the flow of pirated editions of Lady Chatterly's Lover. This copy with minor soiling two small stains, the spine head and tail bruised, still very good. An attractive item published when Random House was still more of a fine press publisher than a popular one.
