Publisher's blue buckram, gilt. Gilt cross to the front board with 'Faith, Charity, Hope, 1883' to the four arms of the device [gilt design of the Royal Red Cross]. Inscribed to the head of the half-title page 'Major J. A. Winstanley 4th Batt, Sherwood Foresters. THe spine is a trifle sunned but the boards are fine. The attractive original patterned end-papers are uncracked and the text block and contents are fine and tight. A near fine copy. PLEASE EMAIL FOR PHOTOS.. 1st Edition. Hardback. V.g.. large 8vo.
