Off-white, course-grain cloth over boards with black leather spine panel, gilt letters between double fillets; untrimmed fore and tail text block edges; sewn on tapes. Clean covers and spine; unevenly sunned/aged on covers; faint foxing-like marks on spine; spine label has small chips at edges and small closed tear; tightly bound; partial crack at front fly sheets hinge, binding tapes still firm; bright, clean interior. Illustrations at every chapter head as well as numerous partial and full page watercolors; Colored initial letters at chapter heads. Watermarked ('Henri Cyral') Rives vellum paper. 8vo, 490 pp.
